Snap Deploy Agent losing DHCP lease

Thread needs solution

We have our PXE server and DHCP server in a different VLAN from our clients. We can get the clients to PXE boot ok, and they are getting a DHCP lease at this point. However once the Deploy agent starts, the DHCP lease has been lost and we have an auto-config address. We then have to resort to assigning IPs manually to get the images deployed, which slows the whole process down.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue, or found a fix for this before?

Thanks,
Paul.

I've had the same issue both with version 3 and version 4. One interesting thing I've found is that if you connect the machine to a switch (such as small 4-port switch) and then connect that switch to the LAN everything works fine. I was hoping that the issue would be resolved in version 4 so I need to contact support and see if they have a better fix.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi,
i had the same issue.
The solution was changing settings on the LAN-Switches.
In the IP Helper settings, i had to change Forward delay to 0.
After that everything worked like a charm.
