True Image HD

Thread needs solution

I have recently purchased a new SSD and also an OCZ Upgrade Pack which included a copy of True Image HD (plus a caddy and USB cable).

I intitially put the SSD into my tower as i expected the software to allow me to clone my System Boot drive with the drive installed (i belived this would be quicker as it would allow the disk to write data quicker). Unfortunately after selecting the source disk and then the destination disk the computer would re-boot but then kept giving me the message 'cannot write sector **** to disk' and the process had to be cancelled. Eventually after several attempts i removed the SSD and placed it in the caddy. I then hooked it up to the tower with the USB lead and it then imaged to the disk fine. I then placed the disk back in the tower and it worked fine.

The odd thing was that between some of the failed attempts i was actually able to format the disk using windows disk manager and copy items to it; but the software just wouldn't clone to it.

I am eager to know why it would not allow me to clone to the disk when it was installed in the tower? This seems strange and i am wondering if the software will do the same again if i try and clone another disk in the future using this sofwtare?
