Unable to boot to USB flash drive

Thread needs solution

I am using a trial copy of Acronis Snap Deploy 3 (build 3470). I created a Bootable Media flash drive, but when I attempt to boot to it, I get an error that there is, "No bootable partition in table" and I have to hard reset the PC.
On the other hand, a DVD created with the Bootable Media applet works just fine.

This is a Dell Optiplex 980.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your message. I will do my best to help you with this.

This error message usually means that there is some issue with the hard drive MBR or that you are booting off a flash drive without MBR.

How exactly did you create the bootable flash media? I can suggest this article from our Knowledge Base for additional information. Did you format your flash media in FAT32?

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I just used the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder.
Your steps are the way to go as the Media Builder does not build rescue media on flash. CD/DVD yes, flash no.
Thanks for the links!

Anton, just to follow up, your article suggestion worked great for me, thanks! It was an issue with partitioning the thumb drive first.
