USB Boot Issue

Thread needs solution

Hi folks, our district is new to Acronis (although I've used for few years at a prior workplace). So far so good with imaging all of our laptops and desktops. However we are have a major problem with trying to boot our HP Elitepad900 G1 with the USB created media. I was successfully able to capture an image from the tablet while booted into Windows. When we USB Boot the Acrnois UEFI loader appears to be starting but then goes blank and we get a black screen and nothing happens. If we PXE boot the tablet off a docking station we are promted to make a choice and choose the snap deploy agent however we are then greeted with an error message (see attached). My boot options on the tablet are OS Boot, USB Hard Drive, or IPV4 & 6. I've seen some prior threads on this but was sure it was my exact issue so I started a new one. I have contacted support and was given a new Build I believe 5.0.1.666, but got the same results. I was also instructed to try a Window PE Bootable media but that generated an error: File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BD Status: 0xc000000f The boot configuration data for your PC is missing or contains errors. Any help or advice would be greatly apprecaited and thank you in advance for your time and help, sincerely!

P.S. Is there anyways while a device is booted into an O/S to run the snap deploy agent so I can push this image out?

Possibly, it seems like PXE started at the bios level, but might have pooped out as soon as it tried to boot to the Linux Kernel of Acronis.  A few things you can try:

1) if you have a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter, give that a shot too

2) Create a wim image with Windows 10 ADK and upload to teh server and try booting to that instead (these are slower to load, but if created with the Win10 ADK, should have the necessary NIC drivers)

3) ensure that you have 64-bit PXE enabled and possibly enable IPV6 too.

4) I'll send you a PM with 1666 beta which has the latest Intel NIC drivers baked in along with NVME PCIE hard drive support - both are not in the current 1660 public release.

Other things to consider since I missed that you recieved 1666 already...

AFter installing 1666, remove the PXE component completely, reboot and reinstall - that has helped others to ensure the PXE service is functioning correctly.

What is the SATA mode set on your system - RAID or AHCI?  The default LInux media does not work with RAID because of a lack of Linux RAID controller drivers. The work-a-round is to temporarily go into the bios and set the SATA mode to AHCI (assuming these don't have an actual RAID 0 or 1, but were set to raid by the manufacturer because they are using NVME PCIE hard drives)

Alternatively, create the WinPE bootable media, but make sure you build it with Windows 10 ADK version 1511.  If the SATA mode is RAID, you'll still need to inject the IRST (Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers - use this link if you are building Windows 10 ADK PE) into the boot.wim file (lcoated on your bootable recovery usb flash drive root of the drive >>> sources / boot.wim)

Instructions for adding drivers to your bootable recovery media with WinPE are here:  https://forum.acronis.com/forum/112372#comment-387006
