Version 1780

Thread needs solution

I noticed that in the Products-->Downloads area of my Acronis account portal, that 1780 is posted.  Yet, the change log is from Aug of 2017 (https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/updates/changes.html?p=30498

Release date: August 3, 2017
Build: 1780

Can you please confirm if this indeed a new version or if the naming has changed?  We are currently using 1761 that I thought was the latest version.  If 1780 is indeed the latest (newer than 1761,) is there a proper change log?

Hi!

1780 was published to address minor specific security issues, it doesn't contain the fixes already available in 1761. So I'd suggest keeping 1761 until the next update is released (it will include all fixes from 1761 and new).

This is so confusing and annoying. What are the security issues? We are very sensitive to security vulnerabilities. Is there a bulletin? Mitigation steps? etc.

Does 1761 contain these fixes already? Or are we stuck between choosing between security and functionality? I've worked with Acronis Snap Deploy through many jobs before (one of the reasons I voted for migrating to it), but never has the versioning and bugfixes been this confusing and opaque as now.

Hello nvdev,

The only change included in 1780 is update to ACEP (Acronis Customer Experience Program), where CEP is now disabled by default.

Update: we've developed a build that contains both fixes for the known issues and security updates from 1780 https://forum.acronis.com/forum/acronis-snap-deploy-5/build-1808-acronis-snap-deploy-5
