Hello Magied Salar,

Thank you for testing our Acronis Snap Deploy 4.0 product.

If the default linux based bootable media does not support the raid system on the target machine, you can use the windows based (WinPE) bootable media.

Please follow this article that describes, how to create a WinPE bootable media. Also remember, that you can use only 32-bit windows drivers in this situation.

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

Hello Magied Salar,

Thank you for your reply.

Please be more detailed. Have you created a WinPE bootable media? Have you added the drivers for your raid hardware?

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for your Help
I had already create the WinPE, and adde the Raid controle Driver, nothing have been chenged,Please I need to Call Hotline but I have no tel Nr.we are a big Company in North Germany and we use Snape deploy 3 with 15 Licence !
Thank you.

Hello Magied Salar,

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, you only have registered trial versions in your account. Your trial support ends at 26.09.2012. If you have a valid maintenance purchased, then I first suggest registering your products at your account and then you can register your maintenance.

Please check if you really have used only the 32-bit drivers and that your drivers where unpacked when adding to your WinPE media. Only when you have unpacked the driver and see .inf, .oem, .dll and .sys files, you can successfully add the driver to your starting environment.

Please use these additional external resources in order to add correctly your drivers to your WinPE media:

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hallo,
Thanks for your Answering
ist stell not booting with Raid, I change in Bios-System configuration-SATA Operation to ATA or AHCI, it booting now but it restat the machene when I run the deployment?
Thank you.

Hello Magied Salar,

Thank you for your reply.

Therefore, the WinPE media is booting and you can start the deployment task. However, when the deployment starts the media runs into a reboot. Are you following these steps from this article in our knowledge base?

If possible, please describe detailed what exact is happening in short steps.

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

Hi,
How can I Activate a Windows 7 after a deployment with Acronis Snap Deploy 4 ( for 12 Client)?

Hello Magied Salar,

Thank you for your reply.

Please do not repeat your answer to push the thread. I have activated the monitoring for this thread and get notification for each update. Please accept my apologies for the delayed answer.

You need to activate the system, when used Acronis Snap Deploy 4. This activation is a Windows function and so far, if the system asks to activate, you have to do it manually.

Only Windows 7 Enterprise is using a Microsoft License Server that can activate via LAN automatically.

There is no way to do this by Acronis Snap Deploy 4.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

HI,
Thanks for your reply,
is ther any possibility to run a script (for activation win7) after the deploment ASD4 ?

Hello Magied Salar,

Thank you for your reply.

When you know how to activate your Windows copy via script, you can transfer the script after deployment or store it on the master image. In this section of online help, you find the corresponding settings for the deployment template.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

You can write the below commands into a script or just follow the directions and activate manually once you log on to Windows...

1. Open a elevated command prompt.

2. In the elevated command prompt, type in the command below and press enter.
NOTE: Substitute XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX in ths command below with your actual product key number instead.
slmgr.vbs /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

3. In the elevated command prompt, type in the command below to activate your Windows 7 with this new product key number and press enter.
slmgr.vbs /ato

4. Close the elevated command prompt.

Run sysprep on your image before you use Snap Deploy 4 to move it to another machine.

Sysprep will remove the hardware and license information for proper migration and re-setup. What you're looking to do is run sysprep and use the OOBE (Out of Box Experience). Check out this link...

You're correct. But if you would like to be able to add your license number in the setup, just run sysprep. It will allow you to add your key and it will generate all new UUID / SID signatures. Just seems like the easiest fix for this guy rather than using a script on every computer.

Why would he have to write a script for every computer if he inputs the script in the deployment wizard?

Or, he could deploy the script across the network using domain resources.
Not trying to start an argument, just trying to figure out how you thing using sysprep is the easiest solution.

I didn't even think about using the script in the deployment wizard. Good idea.

I was just thinking about the best long term solution, which in my mind seemed like building your image as far as you liked and sysprepping it so that you were always able to add every part of the set up you could need. I haven't really tested enough of the tools that are built in to SD4 so maybe that is where I feel like a traditional sysprep was more effective.

Personally, I do not like sysprep and I think it is a pain in the behind to work with.

I do not work for Acronis but I have worked with almost all of their products in my job and I have found nothing easier to work with. Acronis makes the imaging process painless and I was sold on it when I found out that I no longer had to use sysprep when building an image. Acronis has all of the tools that you need, built in to their products and that is one reason why I will never use another imaging application.
