Windows 10 1607 Update

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to deploy Windows 10 with the new 1607 anniversary update installed.  When I image client PC's they will not activate Windows but will activate if I deploy a prior Windows 10 1511 image.  Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have a fix?

I haven't run into this.  Was your new 1607 image already activated too and is the Win 10 image being pushed to systems that already had an active Windows 10 license?  Technically, if the hardware previously registered a Windows 10 license with Microsoft (must be the same version though - home, Pro or Enterprise) it should activate with Microsoft automatically.  If not, you should still be able to enter the old license key (even the OEM one and it should register again - assuming that it was previously upgraded or activated with the same version of Windows 10)

I never ran into this myself and the OP never responded back. Have you tried with the current 1749 version to see if it helps?  If not, try taking the image with 1749 and deploying it too.  In my experience, NEW systems would only license if the original license was applied to the system first.  Deploying an image that was licensed to another image, if it was not sysprepped will not activate the new hardware with that image.  Windows 10 is not sysprepped with ASD5 so this could be the issue?  Windows 10 home/pro should always be activated on the original system first to check in with Microsoft and register the hardware license.  After that, you can deploy images (of the same OS type) to it all day long.
