Creating a Master Image of a PC with a smaller drive, Deploying to a PC with a larger drive.

Thread needs solution

I created a master image of a PC that had a 500GB SSD, when I deployed the image to a new PC with a larger 1TB SSD it created the normal Windows partitions but only created 500GB of usable space and left 500GB unallocated. Is there a setting in the Master Image Creator or Standalone Utility to have Snap Deploy use all available disk space on the new SSD? I would prefer to not have two separate partitions that could lead to confusion. Thank you!

Hello Megan.

Welcome to the forum.

This setting determines whether to change the size of the volumes you are deploying according to the available space on the target disk. The available space depends on the size of the target disk and on whether you selected to replace all volumes or only a particular volume.

The preset is: Resize volumes to fit target disk

The settings are the following:

  • Resize volumes to fit target disk: The software will proportionally extend or reduce each of the deployed volumes according to the available space on the target disk.

Please refer to the following user-guide's with more details:

Feel free to reply if you have any questions.

Thanks in advance!
