I am trying to install the trial version to test it before we buy a few dozen copies for this client. I actually tried both the web version and the full version with the same failure. I used Registry First Aid to strip out all of the Registry items related to Acronis. But I may have missd the MSIGEN code -- what folder are those log file stored in?
Thanks.

You would find that in the MSI Installer log. You can create an installer log. Have a look at the link below:

Run the 2015 TI cleanup utilty to remove old TI residue from the computer and then repeat the install of the trial.
Refer my signature item 4 for the link to cleanup utility.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I'm running ATIH 2014 but trying to install the 2016 trial (web) version. Surely I don't need to uninstall 2014 to do this?
ATIH 2014 appears to have set all my scheduled backups to "Not yet backed up" following my attempt to install the trial version...

Acronis supports upgrades, but there seem to be a lot of people who have trouble after upgrading. Not sure if this is an application issue or problems that already exist on these systems - perhaps due to other Windoews upgrades, third party software, who knows what since we all maintain our systems differently. Acronis also won't let you have 2 versions installed so I would not recommend "upgading" from a licensed version to a trial version. In the long run, you'll probably save time and have a better working instance of Acronis if you remove the old version first and install the newest version after that. If you like it, all you'll have to do then is enter the license key to unlock all of the features.

Thanks for the response.
Trouble is, I've upgraded to Win10 (from Win7) since installing ATIH 2014 and now I can't uninstall it! I get the message "Installation has failed.
The system cannot find the file specified"
I've also tried the clean utility 'atih_cleanup_tool_s_e.exe', but it just says "Wrong Windows version detected"
Any suggestions as to how I can upgrade to ATIH 2016?

Double check " control panel / programs and features"to make sure there is nothing Acronis listed there. If there is, remove it.
Run the ATIH cleanup tool one more time for good measure (just in case).
Check and see if you have any old Acronis folders in the following directories and delete them if you do:
c:\program files (x86)\common, c:\program files (x86), c:\program files\common, c:\program files, c:\programdata (it's a hidden folder). Once you've removed everything reboot.
Log back into your pc and redownload the latest ATIH insaller from your account - you want to be sure to have the most current version. Perhaps your installer is corrupted somehow so this will rule that out as well.
When your run the installer "right click" on the executable and select "run as administrator" even if logged in with an admin account. This will help ensure that it has the highest privilieges to install on you machine which is a good idea whenever you purposely install a software application.
Hope that does the trick.

Confused.
a) I cannot remove ATIH 2014 from P&F. I get the message above, along with some screen blanking and Control Panel closing! (I also have Disk Director 11 installed.)
b) I cannot run the ATIH cleanup tool as it complains about the Windows version. Is there a version for Win10?
I have now tried the following:
- Neither ATIH or Disk Director 11 will uninstall from Control Panel.
- I found a program called "Wise Program Installer". This succeeded in removing ATIH but failed on DD.
- I renamed folder "Acronis" as "xAcronis" in the following locations: C:\Program Files (x86) ; C:\ProgramData
- I ran CCleaner on the registry and removed all entries it found.
- I rebooted and downloaded the ATIH 2016 installer 'AcronisTrueImage2016_web.exe'.
- I disabled my firewall and viruschecker.
- I ran the above installer and it STILL FAILED! Exactly the same.
I have attached the log file in the hope that someone can help me proceed...

I have now deleted 'C:\Windows\System32\drivers\snapman.sys' and run 'CleanupTool_46_en-US.exe' and the installation of ATIH 2016 worked!

Awesome! It sounds like the driver may have been in use or perhaps one of the Acronis services which was preventing the uninstall due to some kind of corruption. Glad you were able to find the culprit and get it removed and re-installed cleanly. Hopefully, all will be well again now.
