Bob, this was one of the changes introduced with the latest 6559 build following lots of feedback from users.

Great.  The release notes for 6569 made me look for it ...

Tried two times this morning to install the build 6569 update in ATI 2016 and the upgrade failed. Running Win 10. Anybody else having this problem?

Gary

Hello Gary, I just upgraded two of my Windows 10 systems today to the latest build 6569 using the option in the GUI when I opened it and was advised the update was available.

Some users have had problems with the previous 6559 update caused by security programs blocking the upgrade.

I would recommend downloading a copy of the full 6559 installer from your Acronis Account (approx 450MB) and then run this as Administrator, with security disabled and disconnected from the internet to see if that method succeeds for you.

Now I'm in a real pickle; I tried to do a full 6569 install and that did not work. Then I tried to do a 6559 install exactly as you described and that has failed. I now find myself withoout ANY ATI 2016 of any kind.

Help.

Gary, under the circumstances, I would recommend doing a clean install of the 6569 software.

To do this, uninstall the program via the Control Panel (or use an uninstaller such as Revo).

Run the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature below), then restart the computer.

Reinstall the ATIH software (download a fresh copy from your Acronis Account if needed or if you don't have the latest build version installer).  Run the install as an Administrator (right-click on the installer to take this option).

Note: The cleanup tool will remove all your backup tasks and task history.  If you want to protect this information, then open C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ in Windows Explorer - this may be hidden on some systems - if so, go to the Folder option in the View pane and enable hidden files & folders).

Save a copy of the Database and Scripts folders to another location to restore back later.

Note 2: In order to restore the above folders & contents, you must stop all Acronis Services & Programs else you will encounter locked files in the Database folder.

I had the same problem downloading and installing 6569, did a clean uninstall, downloaded 6569 from the website (NOT from the option on the startup of ATI2016) and 6569 installed correctly. Also resolved my biggest problem - scheduler not working.

Gary,

If you have no ATI2016 version running, I would recommend running the cleanup tool using the link in Steve S's signature block.  You should follow all of the steps contained in the link.  Once you run the cleanup tool and reboot you can then decide which build to load.  Whichever version you decide on, do not double click on the install exe...right click on the install exe and run as administrator.

If your previous attempts were using double clicks & not run as administrator, then I would recommend build 6569, run as administrator.

Followed all of everyone's instructions and I now have a good install of build 6569.

Hey FtrPilot; it looks like you were a Phantom II pilot. I was in Class 64-C and turned down the F-4 (1st class) cause it would have been in the back seat. Ended up with 5050 hours, mostly in the F-100, A-7 and A-10. Loved every minute of the 30 years.

I have tried several times to install the upgrade to Acronis Truetype 2016. I even uninstalled it and now I can't get it to install the pre 6569 build. This is totally unacceptable and jumping through hoops by messing with the registry is also not a viable option. I need you guys at Acronis to fix this.

It's a real pain, but if you follow the instructions above, get a clean uninstall, get the registry cleaned, and download build 6569 from the website, you should get a good install. I just did it after not being able to the the update to 6569 to install.

Herbert, just running the Acronis Cleanup Tool without having to touch the registry should be enough, it has been on the occasions that I have used it.  Best to reboot after using the tool, then try a new install of the 6569 installer.

Gary,

Congrats on your successful install...and thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for your service.

I did 21 years and amassed 3000+ in the Phantom...all makes and models including the G & RF.

I tried to update to build 6569 and it failed multiple times. Today I opened task manager and did an end task of anything Acronis. Ran the update and it worked perfectly. After the update completed all of the Acronis tasks  were automatically started.
