Acronis 2016 cloning problem (flashing screen at reboot) with Windows 10 [Resolved by another cloning Software]

Thread needs solution

Hello,
When i want to backup my first SSD (M2 Kingston/MBR) without any problem, to the second SSD (M2 Crucial) on my MSI GS60 Laptop and so reboot on the second SSD, i have a problem with a flashing sceen with the blue circle (ring). You can just use CTRL ALT SUP to reboot and reboot again.
Another person on Acronis forum seem to have the same problem:

I think that Acronis have a problem to do a good clone; Acronis Bug ?

Ps: I have the last Acronis hotfix

I have been having a issue with when cloning a drive with Acronis and it askes me to restart the pc to clone the drive and i do as it askes me to do after completion it blue screens my pc and i have to rebuild it evertime. is there a way around this other then having to use a cd witch i have had no problem.

is there a fix to this issue or will i always to have to use the cd to avoid this issue

FieldTech - as a recovery issue, I would definitely open a case with Acronis Techincal Support and they should be able to help identify the cause.

As for the clone method, when started in Windows it will always shutdown Windows and attempt to boot into a hidden partion on the drive with Linux bootable media.  Essentially, it's the same as booting from a CD or USB, but instead, it is using a small parition on your hard drive which actually modifies the bootloader of it to tell it to boot to Acronis.  Depending on how your bios is configured (secure boot needs to be off), it may not be getting the opportunity to continue booting into Acronis properly.

I would always recommend using the boot media instead to help avoid any unnecessary change to the Windows bootloader.  Most likely it is a bios issue that is preventing the Acronis partition from finishing the boot, but it shouldn't be  preventing the system from booting to Windows so that is definitely concerning. This should be avoidable using the offline bootable media in the future though, and is actually the preferred/recommended way to start the clone so you can pick the boot option from the bios.

The flickering screen in this situation is usually caused by having both the soruce drive and the target drive attached to the PC when the machine is rebooted after the clone finishes.

To avoid this choose to Shutdown the PC after the clone completes when you configure the clone task.  Once the machine shutsdown, remove the source disk and replace it with the new target disk and boot the machine.  Should work.

I've been following this online in other software products as well (to include Samsung migration tool, Easus and a couple of others).  If the flashing is still reproduceable in Acronis after making sure to remove the original drive before ever starting up the new one, see if this provides any relief...
