ACRONIS 2016 True image backup routine stuck in queue

For some time now, my scheduled back ups have not been happening.  When going in to the program, most of the backups (some daily, others weekly) are in the "queue" but never complete.  It is a though the program has frozen.  The only way I have to correct this is to restart the computer and then manually back up each item.  This works, but then it tends to fail on the next round in the same manner.  Also, there is no longer a notification on the computer's task bar that a back up has failed as it did on the old 2014 version.  If you do not check, you might end up with a significant loss of data should you require a back up that did not occur.  The program worked seamlessly for a long time up until about March or April 2017 and am not sure if this is an issue with WIN10 or something else.  Virus protection is through F-Secure, but it does not affect the manual back ups performed, so am discounting this.  Upon shut down, there is always an error, then the red screen that Acronis is shutting down current operations and will restart in two minutes.  As there should not be any active back ups at those times, is appears the program is still trying to operate, but in the task manager is just is sitting at 0%.  any ideas?

John, welcome to these User Forums.

Please download & use the MVP Log Viewer tool to look at the detailed backup task logs to try to get a better idea of what is going on with your queued backup tasks?

Without knowing more about what is actually happening as shown by the logs, it is difficult to guess what the core issue here may be?
