Acronis 2016 True Image Installer freezes - no useful log info

Thread needs solution

Trying to install True Image 2016 on machine where previously installed and stopped working.  Can uninstall "successfully" with either installer in remove mode, Clean Up Tool 2.0, or Windows "Remove Programs" control panel. When using Clean Up Tool 2.0 also checked the upper and lower filters with RegEdit.  Whenever I try to install, the installer gets the progress bar almost to the very end and freezes.  Rebooting and checking the installer log does not provide any useful information, the last entry is always that it is starting the installation.

Did things like sfc /scannow and dskchk /r, nothing changed.  Anyone have any ideas what to try? Customer support has expired.

Bruce, welcome to these user forums.

When you are installing, please ensure that you are running the install as Administrator and ideally, disconnect from the Internet and temporarily disable your security programs.

If you still cannot get ATIH 2016 (build 6571 latest) to install, then try changing the Compatibility settings to run the install in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows, i.e. Windows 8 or 7.

Note: I would recommend downloading a fresh copy of the installer program from your Acronis Account and verifying the checksum as advised on the website.
