Acronis prevents computer from shutting down

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image 2016 installed on a Windows 7 laptop.  I do not have any automatic back ups scheduled;  I back up manually.

But when I try to shut down my computer I get the following message:

"1 program still needs to close: (Waiting for) Acronis True Image 2016. The current back up operation is not yet complete.  To close the program that is preventing Windows from shutting down, click Cancel, then close the program."

But the Acronis program is not running, and I have not started a back up.  How can I stop this message from appearing, and get my computer to shut down?  I am on the verge of uninstalling Acronis and giving up.  I certainly will NOT upgrade to 2017 until I get an answer for this problem

Stephen, welcome to these user forums.

This was a known problem and was fixed in the latest ATIH 2016 build 6571 version, so if you are still seeing this it would suggest that you have an earlier build version installed.  Please check your ATIH 2016 GUI Account page and check what build number is shown there?

You can download the latest build installer from your Acronis account and use this to update to the latest build version.
