Acronis True Image 2016 will not install on computer with XP SP3. Installation failed message. 3 log files created.
I purchased and downloade Acronis True Image 2016, on 8-6-2016. It will not install on my computer which is running XP with SP3 installed. I keep getting the message, "Installation Failed", and a log file is created. I have tried installing the original download and the "New Version is Available" message on the install screen, with the same failure. How do I solve this problem?

I am running Windows XP SP3 32 bit OS. The only other Acronis product on my computer is called "Acronis Align Tool", which was installed when I installed an Intel Solid State Drive". This software helps "align" the data on the SSD for optimum operation of the SSD. Are you saying that I should uninstall this software, and try installing Acronis True Image 2016 again? Please reply. Thank you.

David, thank you for the further information. It's good that you have the 32 bit version of XP SP3 which is fine for installing ATIH 2016.
With regards to the Acronis Align Tool, I am not familiar with that but by definition of its purpose, it is really a run once tool intended for when you have first installed a new SSD, after that it should be totally redundant.
I would suggest uninstalling the tool then running the Acronis Cleanup Tool to ensure you are ready for a clean install of ATIH 2016. It is best to restart the system after doing the uninstall and clean up then run the installer as Administrator.

I ran the Acronis Cleanup tool on my computer, it ran to completion with no problems. I deleted the copy of Acronis True Image 2016, which I downloaded, downloaded another copy from the link provided, tried to install it with no success. I still get the "Failed to Install" message. I saved the error log file and will attach it here, so you can check to see if it is the same failure as the previous install attempts.

Later I see:

My earlier initial thoughts was that the older version of this product was referring to an Acronis product but given that you have run the Acronis Cleanup Tool, then this may instead be referring to a corrupt system component or module.
I would recommend running the System File Checker tool (SFC /SCANNOW) - see MS webpage: https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/system_file_checker.mspx?mfr=true and webpage: How To Use Sfc.exe To Repair System Files
A further question, do you have any other user accounts on your computer system? If you do, please check that you do not have any Acronis products installed for those user accounts, as this could explain some of the other messages in the logs about not having the necessary privileges...
