all my tib files disappears after i made a full acronis 2016 backup to my SSD 2TG

Thread needs solution

Hello

i have a serious problem

i made a full backup to my SSD drive 2TB using acronis 2016

the full backup made to another external 2TB HDD model My passport western digital.

when done, i figured out that the backup doesn't include all acronis tib files images available in my SSD hard disk, i mean i made many tib backups for clients hard disks and save it on my SSD,  thank god that i kept my SSD old drive without formatting

i have now to compare all data, because i started using the new hard disk and after a while i found that all tib files are missing after restoring the last backup i made on a bigger 4TB ssd hard disk, all back but all saved tib files  are missing, even if i explore the last backup tib file from my Pasport HDD where i made the acronis backup, the files are missing

can you tell me please what's happened and how i can solve this and to make sure this will not happening in the future

thanks

pierre

Pierre, welcome to these public User Forums.

All versions of Acronis True Image exclude any .tib & .tibx (ATI 2020) files by default and have always done this for as long as I can remember.

This is shown in the ATI 2016 User Guide here

The latest ATI 2020 User Guide has the following section related to this topic, including a link to a KB document covering the same information:

What is excluded from archives?

To reduce archive size and eliminate a possibility to corrupt your system, by default Acronis True Image 2020 excludes the following data from archives:

  • pagefile.sys
  • swapfile.sys
  • The Temp folder
  • The System Volume Information folder
  • The Recycle Bin
  • Web browser temporary data:
    • Temporary Internet files
    • Cache
  • .tib files
  • .tib.metadata files
  • .tmp files
  • .~ files
