As always...
I was an Acronis user a few years ago and decided to switch to Macrium Reflect which has run flawlessly ever since. It just plain works. But for the fun of it, every year I test the new version of TI just to see if it has gotten any better and every year I'm glad I use Reflect. I decided to trial TI 2016...downloaded and installed it. Same simple, "pretty" interface with not much information. I ran a file/folder backup of around 730 MB which ran fine. I selected one on the files to recover and it started just fine. It showed "Calculating time remaining" and "Recovering 85.5 Mb processed". That's as far as it went. The file being recovered is around 690 Mb. No error message, no sign of anything going on. Window title showed "Not responding". I waited for about 5 minutes and then clicked "Stop". The Acronis window dimmed and I clicked the red "X" to close the program. Received the normal Windows message of not responding and clicked "close the program". My file was never restored. I actually uninstalled TI 2016 and reinstalled with the same results. TI same as usual. Glad I switched to Reflect. Running Windows 10 Pro 128Gb SSD
