[ANSWERED] How to restore / backup files with Acronis Universal Restore (Linux Recovery medium / UEFI)

Thread needs solution

Hello guys,

I have installed the ATIH 2016 Universal Restore plugin and created a new recovery medium (Linux based) on my USB stick.

Now I face the problem that when I choose to start Acronis 2016 from that medium, he will instead start Universal Restore which always makes me curious about how to run backup / restore jobs.

In ATIH 2014 / 15 I noticed a similar thing but I was also able to run the familar ATIH UI, which then offered me a universal restore functionality as an option.

I am confused by this. Is it even intended that Universal restore does start at this point?

I've only made a PE UR wim file at the moment, I'll make a Linux UR ISO and see what result I get.

Thank you Colin!

I think meanwhile I've noticed I was "not able" to run ATIH 2016 instead of UR.
Simply because I've chosen the wrong entry in the bootloader: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/97395

Is it possible to backup and restore with UR anyway or is it just a tool to force a driver installation for storage devices on an existing Windows partition?

Hi Karl,
Acronis Universal Restore is only a tool for updating drivers in already installed/recovered system.
To backup/restore you need Acronis True Image on the bootable media.
Thank you,

Thank you Anna!
