Application backup

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am a new user and would like to know if I can make a backup of the whole PC except of the windows system (backup should include all applications like Office, ATI, Skype etc. and related data files).

Issue I want to solve (for information):

My PC (HP G62, i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD) became extremley slow. System usage /performance (CPU, RAM etc.) doesn't show unusual high figures, cleaning file system, defragmentation and all that kind of stuff didn't work. Same with checking HDD. Thus I reinstalled windows (10 Home) but also no improvement.

I am now considering using another PC but cloning the old one will probably just move the problem to the new PC and setting up the new PC with Win10 Home with re-installing all applications and restoring the data files will take a lot of time.

Therefore I would like to know if there is a way to just make a backup of all applications with data files to the new PC and restore that to the new PC which has a new Win10 Home installation.

Thx reiloh

What you are attempting to do if I understand your question correctly is not achievable by True Image or any other software.  It would be impossible for a backup of everything except the Operating System itselff to be restored to a fresh clean Operating System installation.  Reason being that each applicaiton must be installed into the Operating System independently on it's own so that driver files, registry entires, etc. can be written to the porper location within the Operating System so that things work as they should.

Reiloh,

See KB document: 19296: Acronis Products Cannot Be Used to Transfer Applications to Different System or Upgrade OS which confirms Enchantech's reply to you above.

Thx guys
