Archive size almost 2x bigger than from older versions of ATIH
Hi,
My frist post here, so hello everyone :)
I'm the kind of guy who lives by the rule that no news is the the best news, which is why up to now I've been happy enough with Acronis in order not to seek assistance nor share my pains...
I've got the latest, multi-station license for True Image Home 2016, as I eventually wanted to get full support for NAS and USB 3.0. So far I've been happy with 2010 version.
Getting to the merit:
Checked on 2 different machines, using same partion on the same day without any changes done and without excluding anything, to avoid issues with swap, hiberfil etc.
Findings are horrible - system partition image created by ATIH 2016 is ca. 60% bigger than the one from 2010. Full backups, done from the scratch in one go. Max. compression, no noticeable difference with/without encryption (checked).
Examples:
laptop: 2010 - 26 GB, 2016 - 43 GB
desktop: 2010 - 83 GB, 2016 - 134 GB
That is insane! I've also noticed that new version forces the recovery part, even if it was deselected while configuring the backup job.
Would anyone please care to comment on this with anyhow reasonable explanation.
Secondly - How do I view the 'backup comment', especially if browsing through archives of one machine using another one. I see no nothing like in old interface, where one could browse through archives reading the comments as well as keep them arranged, having planned / scheduled and unplanned tasks grouped separately.
I heard and saw comments on the 2015 interface, but I did not even think that it is that bad when it comes to functionality and 2016 did not improve in this aspect at all. One list of everything it ever found is surely not the way to go round. So please Acronis team, give us the choice to use 'normal' interface with the possibility of switching to the 'touch screen friendly, easy step-by-step' newish thing.
If none of the above is planned to be fixed anytime soon, can I please downgrade my license to something that looks and works like ATIH 2010 (which is even great with Windows 10), yet supports USB 3.0 (also in recovery disc mode) and network drives?
