archiving ti 2016

Thread needs solution

In connection with the purchase of a new desktop, I've also purchased true image cloud to serve as my off-site back up.  I also have TI home 2016 on the "old" computer.  If I wanted to archive the most recent entire pc backup for future reference, which backup files would have to save to accomplish this?  Second, I assume it makes sense to have a local back up and TI 2016 can fulfill that function.  (I previously used a combination of TI 2016 and Mozy).

Hello, Barry.

So you have some backups stored locally or on a NAS and you want to keep only the latest version, is that correct?

What files to keep depends on what backup scheme you've been using.

If you only have full backups then you just keep one file (e.g. if you have MyBackup_full_b1_s1_v1, MyBackup_full_b2_s1_v1, MyBackup_full_b3_s1_v1 then you can keep the file MyBackup_full_b3_s1_v1.tib)

If you have full and incremental or differential backups, then you have to keep the latest backup chain, meaning the latest full backup and the incremental/differential backups that come after (it will be something like MyBackup_full_b3_s1_v1 + MyBackup_inc_b3_s2_v1 + MyBackup_inc_b3_s3_v1)
