Perhaps try an in place "repair" install and see if that helps too? Acronis 2017 is working fine for me (as far as I can tell) after updating, but other apps (Like Vmware - so-far), needed to be repaired because the creator update broke the network drivers.

I agree that it would be worth trying an inplace instalation repair.

Kurt, could you try to remember if you have created a folder with {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} in its name, for example, AllSettings.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} or God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}? This folder automatically pulls all actions available under Control Panel and puts them into a single list.
The Browse dialog of True Image on Windows 10 Creators is not able to properly handle this item. The fix will be available only in the upcoming update for the 2017 version of the software. There will be no update for 2016 version with fix.
As a workaround, if you have such item on the Desktop or anywhere else, you can move it into a subfolder. As long as you do not expand subfolder's contents in the Browse dialog, True Image will continue working normally and will not crash.
Backups of all kinds, containing that item succeed without a problem. The only issue is with GUI, namely, the Browse dialog.

Slava

@Slava... As quite the frustrated user, going around and around with Support... removing the God Mode "icon" from the Desktop solved my problem on Windows 10, Creators Update, when trying to use ATIH 2016 (ATIH 2017 trial version worked fine all along). The software would crash immediately upon enumerating Backup Source and/or Destination. I'm curious how you determined that...
Arrgh.... spoke too soon.
While deleting the God Mode or All Settings icon helped, in that ATIH 2016 no longer crashes upon enumerating source/destination options, it now complains of a host of other errors :( I just want my backup software to work without jumping through hoops. Here is the error message(s) now displayed:
More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowledge Base.

Going to the suggested link gives the same tired instructions: disable antivirus, uninstall Acronis, run cleanup utility (doesn't exisit in 2016), re-install Acronis. Expectedly, doing all this makes no difference.
I have Windows 10 File History enabled, so maybe I'll just stick with that... Acronis has become too unreliable and too much work to keep going.

Robert, welcome to these user forums.
Sorry to hear of your frustrations with the problem introduced by the Windows 10 Creators Update for your ATIH 2016 installation.
This is a case where Acronis is playing catch-up to a certain extent when Microsoft keeps moving the playing field with this new updates. The focus, as I understand it, is on the 2017 product so it may take them a little longer to produce an update build for ATIH 2016, that is assuming they will do so?
The Acronis Cleanup Tool is a separate utility program that is found in the Knowledgebase but there is a link to this in my signature below, this is worth trying if your 2016 was previously upgraded from one or more earlier versions of the product.
If you do try the cleanup tool, then please understand that this will wipe out all Acronis software you have installed including Disk Director plus also wipe out all your backup task configuration and history information.
You can protect the task configuration by saving a copy of the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder and restoring this after reinstalling the product. The history information will be picked up when your backup tasks are run again.

@Steve Smith - Thanks for the encouragement. I heard from an Acronis Support rep that they're working on something, perhaps a true fix in ATIH 2017. It's hard to believe a one-year-old product (ATIH 2016) would be end-of-life'd already.
The Acronis cleanup tool shipped with 2016 appears to be a cover-your-tracks kind of utility... useful in its own way, but not for my purposes and I don't think that's what the linked KB article was talking about. I'll check-out the one in your signature.
As to the loss of ATIH 2016, I suppose I'm not that concerned about it now (though I am extremely frustrated--having formerly been a systems engineer and programmer, situations such as this irritate me... but that's a whole 'nother rant). My computers are backed up to the cloud via Crashplan and backed-up locally via Windows' File History (looks like the latter was automatically turned on a year ago when I upgraded to Windows 10). I try to adhere to the rule-of-threes when backing up (in short that's 3-locations, 3-methods).
Anyway Steve, thanks for your comment.
(Sorry to all, I didn't mean to hijack the thread)

Robert, glad to try to help.
The Acronis Drive Cleanser and System Clean up tool are part of the product but have a totally different purpose to the Acronis Cleanup Tool - the first is for completely wiping a disk drive prior to disposal etc, and the second is for wiping your tracks for such as browsing history etc. The separate cleanup tool is purely to remove all traces of the installed Acronis True Image / Disk Director products to facilitate a clean install.
Sounds like you have a good backup process already with your Crashplan and File History options and rule of threes.
