ATI 2016 prevents normal shutdown - Have to Force Shutdown

Thread needs solution

I am using ATI 2016 on Win 7 Pro 64bit PC.

I am surprised to see that Full Technical Support is not available for my Product - What goes.

For some weeks now, ATI has been blocking a Normal Shutdown every night of the Week. The only Scheduled Backups are - Sysytem Disk (Sat) and Data Disk (Sunday), both at times that would finish long before I Shutdown time.

I cannot identify the cause of this.

I could could not Upload the ATI generated "Acronis System Report.zip" as it exceeds the limit of 15MB (18.71)

Perhaps this Limit needs to be increased.

Has this been previously experienced???

Can you please advise what to do??

Nasho23, what build version of ATIH 2016 are you running - please look at the Account page within the program GUI (has an icon that looks like a head and shoulders).

If you are not running either build 6569 or 6571 then I strongly recommend that you upgrade to this level as this problem was reported as being fixed by this build.  6571 is the very latest build number.

See the ATIH 2016 Build 6571 List of Changes

Q: Does Acronis provide free support?

A: Yes. Acronis Home and Home Office products include 30 days of warranty support from date of purchase. Acronis does offer presales technical support during trial period at no additional cost, and support for registration and serial number issues after purchase, except for cases where Support needs to generate a new serial number.

Please also see the following for other support options (recovery is always covered along with account and licensing issues):  18623: How to get Technical Support: Tips, Tricks and Useful Information

How did you try to upload the system report - online or through the "send feedback" option in the applicaiton.  Using send feedback in the application and attaching the system report with it should not have the size limit.

I have the same problem. My notebook (Lenovo S540, Windows 10 Pro) won't shutdown properly because of Acronis True Image 2016.  I already have upgraded to build 6571. After shutting down the display gets black but the system does not fully shut down. I Have to force it by pressing the power button.

After I had disabled the Acronis service programms "Acronis Service Scheduler Helper","Acronis TIB Mounter Monitor", "Acronis True Image 2016 Monitor" in Autostart in the taskmanager menu and rebooted the notebook, the shutdown process worked fine again. But when I then start True Image manually, the shutdown problems are back.

Any help appreciated!

Robert, welcome to these user forums.

The shutdown problem reported / fixed in the latest build versions of ATIH 2016 was where the shutdown showed a message saying that 'Acronis is terminating operations' (or something similar).  I do not recall seeing any posts about users getting a black display on shutdown being caused by ATIH 2016.

I would recommend ending all Acronis Services and Processes which can be done via the Windows 10 Task Manager (right-click on the bottom task bar) then seeing if your computer shuts down correctly?  If you still see a problem after closing all services and programs then the issue is unlikely to be caused by Acronis.

Thanks for the reply, simply reinstalling TI 2016 seems to have solved the shutdown problem. I'll have to test if the problem reappears when I reimplement my backup schedules.

If the problem still occurs then, i will work through your links and give feedback.

Robert, thanks for the update, hope all continues to work correctly for you.
