ATI 2016 SP4 boot loop

I have booted my Surface pro 4 into UEFI by holding the down vol down button when powering on. This boots the ATI rescue media (on USB).

I then try to restore from an image (located on an external HD) of the whole disk.

The rescue media says a restart is required.

I select restart.

Computer reboots into ATI recovery. Then nothing happens.

If I start the disk recovery process again the same loop happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Never mind. It seems that my last 6 full disk backups are corrupt. Despite Acronis validating them at the time of creation.

An older backup worked but this is not acceptable. I will be looking elsewhere for my backup solution.
