ATI Bootable Media CD - Validating and Recovering... Success?

Thread needs solution

It seems my previous posting regarding the unreliability of 2016 Bootable Media CD is no longer evident, or has been deliberately removed If I could locate that posting of a few days ago, then of course I would add what features below to that thread.

Here is what I have found out, by some research and testing, about a week ago.

  1. Make an All Partitions image using the Windows 2016 app.  Validate in the Windows environment.  All is good.
  2. An ATI 2016 Bootable Recovery Media CD will rarely (I saw this work once only) work without stopping and declaring the .TIB file is corrupt.
  3. It is possible to use a ATI 2012 Bootable Recovery CD to Validate and recover from an ATI 2016 .TIB file with total success.

These tests were conducted using Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 10.  Both systems showed the same negative results when attempting to Validate using an ATI 2016 Bootable Recovery Media CD.

Anyone... check this out and let me know, please.  For me, this is a bug in the Bootable Recovery Media build.

Stephen, your earlier post is still in the forum - see https://forum.acronis.com/forum/114608 where some responses were given on this subject.

Also see post https://forum.acronis.com/forum/30007 which looked at the issue of forward / backward compatibility with Acronis products / images.

You may also wish to look at the Acronis KB document on the subject of compatibility:
