ATI stops Win7 closing on shutdown

Thread needs solution

On shutting my computer down, a message appears saying Acronis is completing a task and will shut down in a few minutes. But nothing happens, Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work & I have to hard shutdown using the power button. This seems to only occur if I have connected an external drive to the computer during that session; certainly with the SSD which has ATI files on it, but even with a connected USB which has no ATI backup files on it. This problem still persists despite having reset all backup settings to default i.e. no scheduling of backups.

It might help if you change Windows power plan options to allow your USB ports to never power down.  I believe you can do that from Control Panel, Power Options, and choose the advanced options for your power plan.  Look for USB in the list.
