ATI2016 File Backup - Won't start - VSS issue possibly

Thread needs solution

I've just put down my copy of True Image 2016 on Windows 10.  Trying to do a file backup of files in a DriveBender disk volume (DriverBender.com)

Starting the backup it seems to justs sit on calculating size.    I had a look at the log viewer and I can see:

So I had a look as the vss doctor and if lists timeouts of the 5 or so writers on this machine.  Ideally I think I want to turn off VSS for acronis.  I saw a comment for 2019 about it existing in the performance tab of the optionsd, but this version does not seem to have it.

Is there are way of turning off VSS for certain backups?  or Drives?  This isn't my system drive.

David, glad that you were able to find a way to get your backup running.

If your source files are actually on a network resource then VSS cannot be used anyway as far as I understand, as it runs only on the local Windows system.

For versions of ATI from 2017, Acronis have provided a configuration setting in the Advanced options page to select whether VSS is used or not.

See KB 59440: Acronis True Image 2017: 'Snapshot for backup' option overview - this removed the need to editing script files that you found in the forum topic from Slava.
