BaBackup stalls at 358MB for about 5 mins and then runs as expected to completion

Thread needs solution

Hi

I have a Win10 machine backing up to a NAS on my local/home network. On previous versions such as 2013, I would notice a short pause when doign a full backup, it would run to 200MB-400MB and then pause for 30-50 seconds and then continue on to completion. Now that I upgraded (today) to 2016, this "pause" is approx 5mins and happens at 358MB. It eventualy gets going and completes the backup, but I am wondering what I can do to minimise this delay. There is zero data being transferred to y NAS during this pause.

Thanks

I get a similar pause to my NAS too, but the time varies.  If the NAS has power saving and needs to spin up, it is longer before the drive is accessible to Acronis.  Network latency could be an issue (especially if conneting wirelessly).  DNS translation may have something to do with the delay as well.  Are you using the UNC path as \\NAS_Name\nasshare   or     \\NAS_IP\nasshare ?  You can try IP and see if it is a little quicker since there will not be a DNS translation using the direct IP address.

Also, thake the calculating time and time remaining with a huge grain of salt. The time here fluctuates a lot.  Not a fan of the job estimated time - it is far from accurate and wish there is a progress bar that showed transfer speed and percent complete / percent remaining instead of an estimated completion time that seems to jump around depending on transfer speed as different files size/types are being backed up.
