Back-up terugzetten lukt niet: melding Kan versie 36 niet vinden
Ik tracht een backup terug te zetten, maar ondanks alle handleidingen die ik overal vind, lukt het mij niet. Volgens mij zou het als volgt moeten gaan:
Klik op Back-up maken

Reset backup does not work: notification Can not find version 36
I try to restore a backup, but despite all the manuals I find everywhere, I do not manage. I think it should be as follows:
Click Backup
Click Restore Files
And then it's already missing a popup screen with the message: Can not find version 36 .... Although, on my backup disc, nothing is missing, this message will appear every time. What or what do I do wrong?
Rudolph, this issue is caused by doing the Restore from within the Windows ATI application which in turn references the Acronis Database information where details of the backup activity is stored, so at some point you had a version 36 (and probably a lot more versions too) but which you may have deleted outside of ATI using Explorer.
The ways around this issue are:
- Click on 'Negere deze versie' for each missing/deleted file announced.
- Perform a Validation for the backup task (click on (V) to see this option) and again click on each 'Negere deze versie' popup that is given.
- Boot your computer using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media and do the Restore from that offline application - which does not use the Acronis Database.

Thank you for your quick respond. Can I validate- and if so- do I need to validate previous back-ups to be able to restoren one of them? I just made another incremental back-up incl. validation. The validation process takes quite a lot of time (about one hour now). I don't know if that's ok.

When you do a validation it checks the whole backup version chain, so the full backup and all incrementals for the chain, and the same for any previous version chains created by the task. This can be a long process.
If you do delete old backups outside of ATI then it is best to run a validation after doing this so that the Acronis Database information gets reconciled with the new status of backup .tib files on your backup drive.

Here I am again... After all, I didn't restore a backup at that time in 2017. By the way: I'm using Acronis 2016.
At this moment, I only want to restore a specific folder (my pictures). Because of no dutch manual, and my poor english vocabularity, I post this message here and hope anyone can help me out.
This is what I think I must do before I can restore:
1) Make a Rescue Media Builder with a dvd/cd
2) Run a validation
3) Restore the specific folder
Am I right?

Rudolph, there should be no need to use the ATI Rescue Media if this is all you want to do.
Open Explorer to where your backup .TIB file is located, then double-click on the file to open it in Explorer, then expand the contents to navigate to where your specific pictures folder is found.
You can then use Copy & Paste to transfer the pictures or entire folder to where you want to copy it to.
All this can be done from within Windows.
