Back ups made by ATI 2012

Thread needs solution

Does ATI 2016 recognise backups made by ATI 2009 and ATI 2012?

Previous versions are useless at using backups made by other versions.

Any answers?

I would think that Acronis sales would answer as if ATI 2016 can read old back ups I will probably buy it.

Hi Mark,

I think they are compatible. What I can definitely say, because I had to try it is that backups from newer ATIH versions are NOT readable by older ATIH versions across the time. I don't know when (which version) this cut happened though.

When restoring, it is always best to use the same version for the restore as used when the backup was created.

Often, you can use maybe one version ahead but this vares.

As the TI Recovery CD is the recommended method of restoring your system or new disk, I make a practiced of keeping each TI CD that I create.

It is easy just to keep them on a cd spindle and each Sharpie labelled with version and build number.

Also, you can download the ISO file anytime from your Acronis web account and burn the CD for ANY version of TI that you have registerd.

Check this link for word from Acronis about which newer version can restore older versions.
