Backup to 2 harddisks

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I want to backup my PC to 2 harddisks.

One week harddisk A, other week harddisk B.

Is it nessecary to create 2 backup jobs or could I simple change the harddisks?

I'm working with True Image 2016 Home on a Windows 7 PC and 2 external USB harddisks.

Thanks,

Randolf

If the tasks are scheduled then separate tasks would be recommended.  You would need to suspend 1 task while the other runs so as to avoid failed backups.

You might use the same task but both drives would need to contain all backups generated by the task so as not to corrupt the backup database.  Both drives would need to have the same drive letter when attached to the computer as well.  Because of these facts separate tasks are recommended.

I'd do the 2 backup tasks - it only takes a few minutes to setup and will probably save you headaches down the road.  As Enchantech menioned, just make sure the jobs never overlap (if one is running the other will fail if they are supposed to run at the same time).  This can be avoided if the backup days are different, or the backup times are spread out (for instance, run one at 6PM and the other at 6AM).
