Backup and Restore Question
I am running windows 7 SP1. It is beginning to act strange and my SSD hard drive is getting full.
I want to buy a bigger SSD drive. I want to install Windows 7 SP1 on to the new bigger hard drive.
Then I want to reinstall the Acronis backup, minus the system.
Can Acronis 2016 do that?
So to make it clearer, I want to install Windows 7 onto a new drive then reinstall all my programs, files, pdf's, desktop items, in the same place it is now onto the new bigger drive.
Can I do that or am I saying it wrong?
Thanks for the help.....
Rich

Pat is correct. However, once you install Win 7 from scratch, most of your regular data (my documents, favorites, music, videos, etc) can be restored as files/folders from your backups. This will restore most of your data, but also as Pat mentioned, some data is tied to applications and/or various locations in "appdata" in the user profile. Basic data is no problem, but app specific or app dependent data is not so easily recovered this way unless you know excactly where all of the data is spread around and are able to restore all of it to the new system in the same location.

I was kind of hoping that Acronis would do that for me. Oh well, at least I know now what I need to do.
Thanks all that replied..............
