Backup from bootable disk to eSata storage array

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis products for many years. For the last 3 versions I was hoping to have support for backing up to an external eSata storage array via the bootable backup media. Every time I planned to upgrade to the next version for any given release I have always called sales to find out if the upgrades would have support for using the bootable media to backup to my external eSata storage array without having to load the OS and do it from my desktop. Every sales contact could never answer my questions acorrectly about the new releases. One guy even told me to "give it a try" and let hime know if it worked. Even the WINPE version of the bootable disk does not see my external eSata storage array. I'm trying to create images of my OS drive by using the boot media and save to the external eSata storage. Does anyone know if there is support for backing up to external eSata devices by using the boot media in Acronis True Image 2017?

Sales and support staff has no verifiable information about using this method to backup. There seems to be absolutely "0" support for seeing external eSata storage arrays via an Acronis Bootable Rescue disk. It can see all other drives except an eSata external array. PLEASE NOT THAT I'm trying to backup to an external eSata array via the bootable rescue media. I can perform the task in windows but do not wish to do so while the OS in in use. I find it hard to believe that no one has support for backing up this way with imaging software.

Marlo...welcome to these user forums.

There are 2 types of Acronis bootable rescue media.  One is Linux based and the other is WinPE based.  You will need the WinPE based rescue media.

ATI 2017 WinPE rescue media includes more drivers in the WinPE rescue media than previous versions.  However, I cannot say with certainty if eSata drivers are included.  If they are not included, you can add them using the process contained in the link below:

If you want to continue using ATI 2016, then you should be able to add the drivers to the ATI 2016 WinPE rescue media.
