Backup failed - failed to renew certificate, reason is "certificate expired"

Thread needs solution

I am expected to pay for service, having bought a full licence 30+ days ago.  Not impressed.

Is it Acronis server causing the problem - if so, why should I have to pay for service

Is their a solution, without resorting to paying out for a support ticket.

Aside: the dialog box reporting the issue has a 'Check for a solution' link - which has none.  Not impressed

thanks

Hello David!

I'm really sorry that you have issues with our product!

Let me describe you the error cause. During backup to Cloud our product checks current certificate information and in case it's corrupted ot missing backup fails.

In this case we should renew the actual online certificate. Please do the following:

1) go to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup\<your email address>

2) find security certificate file with your backup plan name

3) move it to desktop (or any another folder)

4) enter Acronis True Image and run this backup to Cloud

New online certificate will be generated in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup\<your email address>, so information will be renewed to run backup.

David, if the problem persists, you can contact our support team indicating paths already done to resolve the issue.

Have a great day,
