Backup (NAS to USB) Fails With Authentication Error

Thread needs solution

I am attempting to backup various share points on a Western Digital myCloud device to a Western Digital USB device on the computer where Acronis True Image 2016 is running.  The folder I am backing up from is identified as Public on the Cloud device.  the USB device is accessible by everyone. I can access both devices read and write from my computer.  I am logged on as Admin and run Acronis as an administrator.  I receive the error message - 'Access to the file or folder is denied.  function = "WNetAddConnectin3W".  path = "\\WWVCloud".'   This is followed by a number of what appears to be security attributes.   Do I need to set username password for the sharepoint to backup from the Cloud device.  Where do I set it.

Alanna, welcome to these User Forums.

Acronis True Image will normally ask for your credentials for any network resource at the time that you select the same as either the Source or Destination for a backup task.

Please see KB 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials which may offer some suggestions for how to deal with your particular issue of backing up a public share on your NAS device.
