backup needs too much time

Thread needs solution

Hello,

use acronis true image since 2009, actually true image 2016. backups until to juny 16 all ok. but now, my monthly actually backup for july 16 runs since 6 hours, actually 9 gb from 330 are done.

Between the last backup and running backup are no changes on hardware or software at the workstation.

Dear reader - can you help or is there any idea ?

shusifi, welcome to these user forums.

If your backup is sticking at just 9GB out of the 330GB being backed up, then there are several possible causes but we may need more information in order to try to find the true cause.

One cause could be a problem with Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) - you can test this quite easily by changing the backup task script to disable MS VSS and use the Acronis snapshot utility instead as described in post: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/45832#comment-346558 - copied below:
