Backup Now button not working

Thread needs solution

Hello

A backup was missed for me so I tried to use the Backup Now button but it does nothing.

I have run chkdsk /f /r on both my external drive and internal drive and found no problems.  I also have Run backup when computer is idle unchecked.

I am running Windows 10 64 bit.

Any other suggestions ?

Thank you

David

2 Things you can do.

The easy and fast way, is simply to create a new Backup Task, and hit the BackupNow button, optionally delete the old Backup job that is not working.

However if you want to learn why it didn't work, then notice in the failed backup, to see if there's any error message.

in the 2016 interface there's usually a Red or Orange icon in the middle, if you hower the mouse over it, it tells you what happened.

Typical issues I've noticed with the 2016 version:

- Folder selection changed

- Partition selection changed

- Destination path changed

- Login credentials changed

- Destination not accessible

Any of those issues will cause the BackupNow button not to work.

I.T. Slick Admin is correct - any of those changes can cause a task to corrupt at some point.  You can try simpy renaming the backup folder (close Acronis and stop the 4 acronis services in Windows Service Management first).  then rename the backup folder, restart the services and start Acronis - normally that will fix issues with a bad job.  If that doesn't work, you can use task zap to clear out the tasks and recreate them from scratch.

I just experienced the same problem and the following worked for me....

open up services and right click on each of the four acronis services and select restart.  I then restarted the acronis backup program.  Once I did this I clicked on the backup button and it started backing up

Chris, the key service that needs to be active / running for a backup to start is the Acronis Scheduler2 Service, many of the other services such as Synch, Non Stop Backup are not required for this scenario.
