Backup size issue

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone,

using Acronis True Image updated to last relaese we are encountering this issue that not permit successfull backup.

Despite of size of data to be backuped are about 300 Gb, Acronis shows twice (about 600 Gb). If I try to edit the source path Acronis seems to update to right size, but just for a while: the right size is not effective.

At the moment the only workaround found is duplicated job creating a new one.

Thanks for your kind support.

Parvin, welcome to these public User Forums.

Have you tried to run the backup task to see what actual size of backup is created here?

What actual version / build of ATI do you have, i.e. is this ATI 2016 build #6595 which was the final build to be released?

What type of files are in your backup source data for this backup?

Have you set a Compression level for the backup?

Hi Steve,

thanks for your kind reply!

I confirm that release in use is the last one (Acronis True Image 2016 v19.0.6595).

I also tried to run backup to see if it complete successfully depsite of size error. But unfortunately not, it fails beacuase it tries to backup wrong size of data.

No compression is enabled and data are some mp3, but mainly office (xlsx and docx) and pciture (jpeg).

thanks again for your support

Parvin, please do a CHKDSK /F for the source drive where your files are stored.  This sounds more likely to be a file system error with not correctly reporting file sizes or free space.

Check disk done. Unfortunately issue is not related to disk errors. No errors found on disk.

If you have other ideas it's very appreciated.

Thanks again for your support.

Parvin, please try using a tool such as TreeSize Free to look at your Source drive file & folder sizes and see if this also reports the larger size of data?
