Backup "stuck" calculating time remaining - endless loop

Thread needs solution

Hi - hoping for a solution to this.....

Whenever I start True Image it goes straight to one of my backup jobs and starts "Calculating time remaining". This has just suddenly started doing this for no apparent reason, it has been working fine up until the last few days.

The backup job is for my system drive to an external USB 3.0 drive. It doesn't matter whether the drive is attached or not. It doesn't matter how long I wait either, overnight is the longest I've left it, approximately 10 hours.

It doesn't respond to "Stop" either. I will be asked if I'm sure I want to "stop the operation" but if I click "Yes" it just carries on as if I'd clicked "No".

A reboot makes no difference. Whatever is causing this has effectively rendered the software useless as I can't do anything else and if I try to start a different job it just gets queued.

There's no apparent way to delete the offending backup job either, "Stop" is the only operation I can perform on it.

Any ideas or help much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes Acronis really needs to sort this out....it happens far too often and the only way to come out of it is to kill off the service and restart. Acronis is too slow to respond to problems and is losing its market lead.....such a shame as it was a great product....it needs to go back to getting the essentials right rather than focusing on adding lots of bells and whistles that people dont really need.

Karl, please see KB document: 1859: Acronis Scheduler Manager and use this utility to first Get list of all your scheduled backup tasks, then to either task zap which will kill all scheduled tasks, or select a specific task using task 1-1 (put your correct task number), then task delete to delete that specific task.

This should stop this automatic behaviour of trying to run the backup task as soon as you start ATIH 2016.

You should still be able to launch any of your other backup tasks from within the ATIH 2016 GUI by clicking on the Backup Now button for that task.
