Backup succeeds, then auto-cleanup fails then backup restarts

Thread needs solution

I'm doing file level backups from one workstation (A)  to another (B) via a shared drive (Windows 10). Both workstations have the same version of Acronis, updated to the 2-June release. The backups run on workstation 'A'  to shared drive on 'B' complete successfully (message is briefly displayed) then quickly the error message about exclusive access to a resource is displayed.  Then the backup restarts after a 10 minute delay.  Backups run only on 'B' are OK.

Acronis is configured to keep no more than three full versions, but no 'A' to 'B' versions are ever deleted. It looks like the error message is generated when Acronis tries to clean up.  'B' only backups clean up automatically.  Anyway, Acronis created hundreds of nearly identical backups, each created 10 minutes after the previous one completes.  Here is a listing of the 'A' to 'B' backups that were created yesterday:

Are you saving backups from A and B to the same folder on the shared drive?  If yes change that so that A and B save backups to different folders.  Each backup task should have a unigue name as well.  These steps help avoid many problems.

Great suggestion, they are being saved to the same folder.  I will change that and try it out! The tasks do have unique names. Thanks.

Cam, when I have seen this behaviour previously in the forum it has been caused in part by the default error handling settings for the backup task (on the Advanced page tab).

Try setting the number of retries (reattempts) to 1 and the delay interval between retries to 6 hours and see if that stops the repetitive 10 minute repeat backups.

Steve,
Thanks, I didn't think to look at those options, that has fixed the excessive retries.  As suggested by Enchantech I created a new share for the backups but I'm getting a different error that I haven't had a chance to look into.  Probably permissions.

To all: Unfortunately I'm travelling for the next two weeks, so apologies in advance as I won't be able to respond to any suggestions.
