Backups Working???

Thread needs solution

I have used Acronis for years with no problems at home to backup both my C and D divers to an external drive. I do a single version scheme backup once a week (One backup for each drive - so 2 backups a week). Each time I did the backup, I would notice one backup file for each drive, when viewed through windows explorer. This seemed to make sense to me. I am not what you would call a "techie". When I did my backup for the D drive this week, there were 4 different back up files created (viewed through windows explorer) . Is this "normal"? I received no error messages, but I am a bit concerned that something may not be working correctly. The same thing happened when I did my backup for the C drive the next day. It created 2 backup files. (See attached)

Should I be concerned? If yes, what should I do?

FYI - I am using Acronis 2016 - Windows 10 - 4GB RAM - Disk Drive sizes are D - 412GB - C 179GB

32 bit operating system,Intel processor 2.33ghz. I am current & on latest release. "K" in the attched file is my external drive

Your backup looks fine.  By default, the backup splitting setting is "automatic".  In most cases, this will result in a single file.  However, if the system becomes low on memory, space, etc, it will break them into smaller manegeable chunks.  Yours are roughly 112Gb each (except for the last one which is smaller because it ended before it reached that 110-114gb size).  Think about what the next largest file size of any single file on your system is (other than .tib backups) - anything remotely close to 112Gb for one file (probably not - even a bluray is "only" 27Gb)?  By breaking your roughly 400Gb backup into 112Gb chunks, it is helping to make sure you don't run out of system resources during the build process - some of which may be a limitation of what free blocks are available on the disk when the files are being written.
