Best starting format for Restore to new PC
Hello,
Sorry for the noob question here.
I would rather start off on the right foot than spend the extra hours with trial and error.
I'm upgrading my Win7 PC to a new PC with different mother board.
I bought the full version of TI16.
I created a full clone of my original HDD and it boots up fine on the old PC.
Should I use this cloned Drive to put into the new PC with the Universal Restore software or should I use a different starting file. Like a full back up of files to another clean drive and not the cloned disc image?
Thank you,
Jay

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the response.
I am putting together a new pc. I have an extra case, and installed a new MB / Intel Chipset, faster CPU, more memory, bigger HDD, etc..
It's a Win 32 OS.
I have not upgraded to Win10 yet because some of our accounting software will not run on 10. So until we upgrade our software.. I am upgrading my hardware to a faster computer.
The Chipset is nearly identical to the old MB but a simple restore will not let the OS fully boot into windows. So i am trying Universal Restore in a few minutes.

Aanndd done. Worked great with the full clone.
The Universal Restore installed a couple of the drivers enough for it to boot into Windows.
It's now going through the MB driver install from the installation disk.
That was a lot faster than I expected. Booted within a couple of minutes of installing the Acronis Boot Disk.
Thanks for the help!
Jay
