Bitlock and Secure Boot cannot be recovered

Thread needs solution

I recovered my with Bitlock encrypted PC with WinPE unencrypted. Bitlock and Secure Boot is gone and cannot be activated again with Windows 10. At System control the item 'system and security' changed to 'system' only.

This means a with bitlocker encrypted PC after WinPE recovery ends up unencrypted and looses the ability of Bitlock and Secure Boot.

So the advertising "True Image 2016 can recover bitlocked PC's" is only half true. To get Bitlock and Secure Boot back sector backup is necessary.

Hello, WGlobal.

I've just backed up and restored a Bitlocker-encrypted Windows 10 machine and did not have the problem you've described.

Do you have the latest, fully updated build of Windows 10? What edition of Windows 10 are you using? Is this a clean installation or an update over a previous version of Windows?

Also, what do you mean when you say that Secure Boot cannot be enabled? As far as I can tell it's enabled in the firmware (UEFI) settings, and not in Windows. Please clarify what issue with Secure Boot you're having exactly.

When you booted the WinPE media did you boot to the UEFI bios boot entry?  Given your discription if you did not then your recovery would be an MBR disk I believe which I think would be sans Bitlocker and Secure Boot would be unavailable.
