Bootmgr missing
I restored disk from image. All files and data appear to be restored. I put restored disk in computer and received bootmgr missing error message. How can I transfer bootmgr from image to restored disk without losing files and data?

I restored the image using Acronis True Image 2016 as that was the program used to create the image. The windows version is Windows 10 Home Premuim. System is booted by Legacy.

Are you certain that you are booting Legacy? Most Windows 10 machines are booted UEFI unless yours is an older machine which has been upgraded to Windows 10. You can attempt to check for this by using the Windows Run option and entering msinfo32.exe. Look for Boot Mode in the results produced.
You should not attempt to restore your system disk image using the installed Windows application. It is recommended that bootable Recovery Media be used to recover system disks.
you can create bootable Recovery Media using the Media Builder tool in the Windows application, look for the Tools icon on the left side of the GUI, click there and select Media Builder to create the media. You will have a choice of creating CD/DVD or USB media. Select to create the standard Recovery Media, not the WinPE version.
Once you have created the media you can use it to boot the machine and run the True Image application which will load automatically once selected from the menu displayed at boot. You will need to setup your machine bios to boot from the media, so you will need to boot into your bios, select the created media as first in boot order, save and exit to boot to the media.
Prior to booting to the created media you should install the new disk in the same location in the machine as the existing disk is in now. Then boot to the media, locate your backup image, select your new disk as destination, and proceed with the restore process.

Hi, I have a related issue.
I purchased a brand new 960gb PNY ssd disk to clone my old 128gb boot disk to since it was almost out of room. The new disk came bundled with acronis true image 14 or 15. The software download said 15, but when I registered it on Acronis website it shows as 14.
Anyway, I cloned the boot disk and then tried to boot from the new disk. It did not work and the error said bootmgr missing. The worst thing is that I tried to boot from the original disk and it gave the same error! So, now I am a sitting duck and don't know how to fix this problem. Can you help or give some advice on how to fix this?
I forgot to mention that I am running Windows 7 Professional.

I feel your pain guys. See this thread https://forum.acronis.com/forum/127399
I eventually fixed it with the information on this page https://neosmart.net/wiki/no-bootable-medium-found/
Go to a command prompt from your Windows Install disk and enter the commands as listed
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /rebuildbcd
That did it for me.
It is so easy to create a backup but so stupidly difficult to get a restore to boot. Both processes should be as easy.

Acronis True Image coming bundled with storage drives are stripped down versions for such vendors. Support for these versions is left up to the distributing vendor.
Cloning of a system disk needs to be done via a boot media. It is risky to perform a clone or a restore for that matter while running the application from within Windows itself. For a cloned drive the new target drive needs to be installed in the machine in place of the existing drive prior to performing the clone. The original drive would be atached to the machine by adapter cable or external enclosure or other available internal connector.
Steve, you should boot into your bios and make sure that the correct drive is listed first in the boot order. If it is not then you will get the error you mention.

Thanks for all your help.
I got it fixed.
The Acronis software had somehow rearranged my bios settings.
I fixed the bios settings and could boot to either drive.
