bootmgr is missing windows 10 ssd

Thread needs solution

I found several posts about this, but none for windows 10 and none that sounded like a solution for me. I mounted the 250 SSD where the old 120 was, then connected the old SSD with a SATA/USB adaptor. The clone process seemed to go just fine, but it won't boot past the bootmgr error. I went into BIOS and assured that the boot order was correct. Any thoughts? Thanks

bikeman, sorry but insufficient information here to try to help.  The original post was written last October with no further updates to say if the issue was resolved.

If you have a current issue, then please provide more details of the steps you have been following, details of the error you are seeing etc.

Please see KB document: 56634: Acronis True Image 2016: Cloning Disks which gives detailed information on the requirements that must be met when cloning, plus has a video tutorial.

See also webpage: Check if your PC uses UEFI or BIOS - as this is vital to successfully cloning - the Acronis bootable Rescue Media must be started in the same way as your Windows starts, i.e. if Windows boots via UEFI, so must the Rescue Media.

Often a user make the mistake of attempting to boot to the new disk after a clone while both the old and new disks are still attached to the machine.  This will result in boot failure.  You must disconnect the old disk prior to attempting boot to the new disk.
