Build 6556 - Extended Shutdown appears not fixed

Thread needs solution

I was assured by the General Manager of Acronis True Image that the extended shutdown problem was being fixed in the next release which is build 6656.

Development team is working on resolving this annoying 'shutdown behavior' and the fix will be implemented in the next update that we expect to have in April.

It appears that annoying message that Acronis was popping up is no longer there but the extended shutdown which in some instances can take several minutes is still there. This makes it very suspicious that underlying problem is still there and the only fix was to remove the output to the screen.

I'm still getting these extended shutdowns with the same errors showing in the event viewer:

The Acronis Scheduler2 Service did not shut down properly after receiving a preshutdown control.

The Acronis Nonstop Backup Service did not shut down properly after receiving a preshutdown control.

I have no idea why I'm getting that last error because I'm not using that feature, and why should I be using resources for featurs not being used, which is apparently causing problems.

Anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

Michael,

Several others have reported that this no longer an issue for them.  It may be that you have underlying issues with the application install from before and upgrading could not fully install.  To fully test, I would cleanly uninstall using the 2015/2016 clean tool, reboot and install v6559 from the download in your online account and be sure to right click and "run as administrator" during the re-install.

As for the NSB service - if you are not using NSB, I would recommend stopping it computer management >>> Administrative Tools >>> Services and setting to "manual startup" so that it does not run automatically anymore.  I do this on all of my macnhines as I have no use for NSB and don't see a need to run it and the less services running (for me) the better.
