Cannot access files in backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm using Acronis 2016 and cannot open a backup file name My disks_full_b1_s1_v1.  I right click on it and select Mount. It gets mounted but show no files. However, I do see the files on the external drive.  Please advise.

It is no longer necessary to mount the images and should open up in Windows Explorer simply by double clicking your backup.tib file.  If this is not happening, and/or mounting is not working either, I would suggest removing Acronis and reinstalling it - especially if you upgraded Acronis from an earlier version directly to 2016, or if you had Acronis installed already and then upgraded the Operating system (say from Windows 7 to Windows 10).

You would want to remove ATIH from control panel, then run the cleanup 2015 tool in my signature block, then reboot.  After logging back into Windows, log in to your Acronis online account and be sure to download the latest version (2016 v6027).  Install it by right clicking on the executable and selecting "run as administrator".  You'll need to enter your license key again, but then all should be well with file explorer navigation and/or mounting your existing .tib backups.
