Cannot backup to Google Drive

Thread needs solution

I am trialling True Image, and I have no problems backing up to my Dropbox, but when I try to make the destination my Google drive, the back fails everytime with the attached message.

I have tried rebooting, changing settings etc. but it appears the backup fails when it tries to open a write to Google drive. It gets to about 97mb (30 seconds) into the backup, then hangs for about 3 minutes, then the message appears.

I open the application as Administrator to avoid permission issue.

To be clear - there is no file with the name associated in the attachment - no file at all exists in the "Acronis Backups" location.

Even though you open the application as Admin you are probably experiencing a permissions problem.  That permission lies in the destination folder chosen for the backup file.  You should look at the Properties, Security tab of folders involved to determine where the problem, if in fact there is one, lies.  First, look at folder permissions for Dropbox and make note of those users listed and the permissions granted those users. Compare these with the folder permissions for Google Drive and note the differences.

Be advised that you must be logged on to your Windows session as an Admin when using TI as an Admin level account is required so that Full Control is given to Source and Destination locations.

When looking at the Users listed for these folders keep in mind that your user adrian must be a member of a user group found in the list of users that has Full Control permissions granted.  Generally this group will be Administrators (name of PC\Administrators).  If this group does not appear in the folder list this is probably your problem.  You can add the Administrators users group to the folder. Below is a link that does a decent job describing this procedure.

Enchantech,

You were spot on. For some reason Google drive just creates folder permissions with my credentials, when Dropbox creates me, administrator and SYSTEM. When I adjusted the creds for Google drive, it worked fine.

Thanks for your help!
