Cannot find the partition selected for the backup.

I am getting that error message when I try and start a back up.  My backups have been running fine for over a year, and now all of a sudden I start getting that.  My backup partition is my C: drive, obviously if that was gone I would not have a runnable computer.  I tried to create a new backup but nothing shows up in the list of drives/partitions to select.

I have never seen such a poorly written crappy piece of software.  This is utterly unbelievable!  Nothing has changed, nothing at all, no updates, no hardware changes, I have made no changes to Acronis...and out of the blue it just stops working.

Does anyone have any recommendations for another backup solution that is even somewhat better than this garbage.  I am so tired of wasting time trying to troubleshoot crap with this software!

Carlton, if you have made no changes to anything on your computer system, including to Acronis programs, then it is likely that the problem lays outside of the Acronis program.

I would recommend running a CHKDSK C: /F /R against your main C: OS drive to ensure that the partition information for the drive has not been corrupted in some way.

You can do this from Windows Explorer by right-clicking on your drive C: then on Properties then on the Tools page tab or you can use a third party tool such as Glary Utilities.
