Can't Back Up
I upgraded my Acronis True Image from 2015 to 2016 via the latest update after being notified. I had absolutely no issue with Acronis True Image 2015 and was able to back up both full and incremental backups of my Windows 7 laptop many times. Now, when I true to do an new full backup since installing the "update", it starts, attempts to calculate how long it will take, then gets hung in some kind of loop where it is polling my hard drive over and over, and adding to how long it will take to do the backup, and once the backup time gets to between 7 and 8 hours, nothing further is done. It just sits there and polls the hard drive. 7 hours for a 500 gig hard drive sounds a bit excessive, but I let it sit there, and NOTHING HAPPENS!
Of course I am 4 weeks past their 30 day warrantee? Please!

Thanks for responding GroverH!
I set up a new backup set, and even sent it to a new subdirectory on a NTFS Formated USB backup drive.
Same issue. I got to 17.69 GB out of a possible 341.gb, and it once again froze with 6 hours and 11 minutes remaining. Once again, the main hard drive light just polled, blink, no blink, blink, no blink, etc. The Acronis status screen did not update in either size (17.69) or time remaining (6 hours 11 minutes). I have screen shots, and even a video to verify.
When I used cntl-alt-delete on the administrator account I was using, I got a windows popup that said it could not load the security profiles (obviously Acronis had suspended them) and to use the power off button to shut down and restart my PC! That is a new one on me!
Anyway, I will not be using Acronis again until this problem is resolved!

This would seem to indicate a problem with the disk or a problem with a file.
Check all partitions on the source disk for disk and or file errors such as from a adm command prompt
CHKDSK X: /R (WHERE X IS THE DRIVE LETTER FOR THE PARTITION BEING CHECKED.)
A Diskcheck could take many hours--best if overnight.
